Thunder PU + PU sole

TRUENO SAFETY® is the first safety footwear company in Spain that has the latest technology in injection machines for footwear that allows DIRECT INJECTION TO THE CUT OF PU + PU (Compact Polyurethane and Expanded Polyurethane).

Due to this direct injection-cut manufacturing system, the sole is fused and filtered through the pores of the leather and the insole, forming a single compact block. This system has three fundamental advantages:

  • The sole can hardly be detached from the upper since there is no glue as a bonding agent between the sole and the upper. Glues have the risk that they can react or break down to excessive heat or cold.
  • It cannot be unstitched as thread is not used to sew the sole to the upper. Threads can burn in flames or break from prolonged cuts or abrasions.
  • There are no empty holes inside the sole that can be filled with water or due to material savings, as is the case with prefabricated and glued soles. The injected soles cover 100% of the volume of the mold.

In addition, the sole is composed of two layers differentiated in density but of the same material that is rubber. As the two layers are injected at the same time in a semi-liquid state and have the same chemical composition, the union between layers is perfect. The bonding between layers is due to a chemical reaction, which means that preliminary treatments, adhesives or the use of textiles as bonding materials are not necessary. These two layers are as follows:

  • The midsole: It is made of low-density foamed polyurethane. It is responsible for the following characteristics:
    • Cushioning. Energy absorption at the heel level = Comfort. Test E of the EN ISO 20345 standard guarantees a damping greater than 20J.
    • Isolation. Thermal insulation from both cold and heat.
  • The sole: It is made of compact, high-density polyurethane. It is responsible for the technical characteristics of the sole in contact with the ground.
    • Excellent resistance to abrasion.
    • Excellent slip resistance.
    • Resistance to organic and synthetic oils.
    • Resistance to fats, aromatic hydrocarbons and petroleum derivatives.
    • Resistance to solvents, acids and alkalis.
    • Resistance to a large number of chemicals.

ERGONOMICS, LAST AND SIZES:

The last has been designed volumetrically according to anthropometric studies of the European population by the IBV Institute of Biomechanics of Valencia. Thus:

Associated entity

  • It is taller and wider than most lasts on the market for greater user comfort. It has been taken into account that the boots are going to be used with thick socks or stockings and therefore the fit of the same is very wide and comfortable.
  • Regarding the sizes, it is manufactured from size 36 to 48. Their equivalences with other sizing systems are:

Sizing

The specific ergonomic characteristics have been verified by three different testers who have tested the boots simulating the typical tasks that are performed during general use. These tasks are:

  • Walk normally for 5 minutes at a speed of about 6 km / h.
  • Go up and down approximately 17 steps for 1 minute.
  • Crouch down with your knee to the ground.

After performing these tests, the results have been:

  • No roughness, sharp areas, sharp or hard areas that could cause injuries have been found on the inner surface of the footwear.
  • The footwear is free of any element that can cause damage.
  • The footwear can be adjusted properly.
  • While wearing footwear, the tasks of walking, running, climbing stairs and bending over with the knee resting on the ground can be carried out without any problem.

OUTSOLE ANTI-PERFORATION INSOLE:

The boot presented by TRUENO® includes a non-metallic anti-perforation insole composed of several layers of high tenacity polyamide and polyester fibers. With this element we protect the foot against any element that could penetrate the sole, such as nails, irons, splinters, etc. and that could be nailed in the sole of the user's foot.

The new non-metallic anti-perforation insoles are the technological evolution of the traditional steel anti-perforation insoles widely used in the manufacture of safety footwear for industrial use. It fully complies with the requirements of the UNE EN 12568 standard and with the P test of the EN ISO 20344 standard.

Compared to the traditional steel insole, they offer the following advantages:

  • It is 50% lighter.
  • Covers 100% of the sole surface.
  • It has better thermal insulation.
  • It does not heat up or stay warm for a long time.
  • It is more flexible, more comfortable and ergonomic.
  • It does not present sharp edges, together with the leather upper of the boot and the midsole, it cannot be moved internally.
  • It is antistatic and more ecological.

ANTISTATIC FOOTWEAR:

The TRUENO® model is ANTISTATIC. Test A of the European Standard EN ISO 20347.

The material and structure of the footwear allows electrostatic charges to be dissipated as it has a current resistance of between 0,1MΩ and 1.000MΩ.

Antistatic footwear must be used where necessary to reduce the accumulation of electrostatic charges, avoiding the risks of ignition due to sparks of different substances and their vapors, as well as the risk associated with not completely eliminating the electrical discharge from certain devices.

Experience shows that to meet antistatic needs, the discharge path through a product must under normal conditions have a resistance of less than 1.000MΩ throughout the life of the product. A value of 0,1MΩ is specified as the lower resistance limit of the product in new condition, in order to ensure safe protection against dangerous electric shock or against ignition in those cases in which an electrical appliance breaks down when operating at voltages. that reach up to 250V.

However, under certain conditions it should be noted that the protection provided by footwear could be ineffective and that other means must be used to protect the user at all times.

The electrical resistance of this type of footwear can be significantly modified by flexion, contamination and humidity. This type of footwear will never fulfill its functions if it is worn in humid environments. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the product is able to fulfill its mission completely by dissipating electrostatic charges, providing the desired protection throughout its useful life.

The user is advised to have the electrical resistance checked at frequent and regular intervals. If footwear is used in conditions where the soles become contaminated, the user must verify the electrical properties before entering the high-risk area. In areas where antistatic footwear is required, the strength of the floor should be such that it never nullifies the protection provided by the shoes.

During use, no insulating element should be inserted between the insole and the user's foot, with the exception of normal socks. If any type of insole is used sandwiched between the sole of the foot and the insole of the footwear, it is convenient to verify the electrical properties of the footwear plus insole assembly.
